Billtown
Mechanical Corporation was founded and incorporated in October
of 1983 by brothers Bern and Larry Strosser. The company began its
business from a garage on Mahaffee Lane in Old Lycoming Township,
Williamsport, Pennsylvania in March 1984. At that time there were
four employees.
In
1985, Billtown Mechanical purchased the machinery and building of
the defunct Williamsport Plumbing and Heating located at 315 Railway
Street. The business remained at that site until 1992. At that time
there were 12 employees.
In
1992, Bern Strosser purchased a 14,500 square foot facility at 25
West Second Ave in South Williamsport. Approximately 11,000 square
feet of this is occupied by Billtown Mechanical with the rest being
rented to various tenants.
In
1995 Larry Strosser retired and in 2002 Bern Strosser Sr. retired.
Billtown Mechanical is now owned and operated by Bern Strosser's
three sons, Bernie Jr., President, Jeff, Vice President, and Scott,
Secretary and Treasurer. As of July, 2002, Billtown Mechanical operates
with 24 employees.
